Project Life Style Art Journal

I want a billion different things in life. I want to experience so many things, try so many things, accomplish so many things. All of them changing, as I do. I knew I needed a spot to start writing about all of these things I want, to document it all, to keep my overactive mind from being cluttered and overwhelmed with daydreams.

This is how my new art journal was born. A place to collect all of these thoughts and put them on paper. A place to write in detail about the things that I want. A place to add pictures of my life, the things in it that I'm in love with. And a place to add photos that inspire me- photo's of places I want to see and things I want to create.

My simple title was inspired by the "I want" scene in The Notebook.
Young Noah: "Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants? Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do YOU want? What do you WANT?"
Young Allie: "It's not that simple."
Young Noah: "WHAT. DO. YOU .WANT? Whaddaya want?!"

Because I'm most familiar and in love with the Project Life style of memory keeping right now, I decided that my first art journal would be in a 6x8 Project Life mini album. There are no rules- full page inserts, traditional art journaling pages mixed in with pocket page protectors, whatever I feel like making. I can write a novel spanning several pages or write nothing at all and only share a photograph. It's a place to document however I want.

Vellum, florals, gold, glitter, hand lettering.... only the prettiest things will do when it comes to documenting all of these beautiful ambitions. I've only just started a couple of weeks ago and I look forward to sharing more bits and pieces from it, as more is completed. For now, here's a basic tour. I'm trying to give a little structure to my art journal. Categorizing my wants into broad categories like "family" and "travel." We'll see how that goes.

This "I want" art journal has quickly become one of my absolute favorite things. Just for me. And what's not to love about that?
