Using my Happy Planner as a Diary

There are infinite ways to use your planner. Some use it strictly for planning appointments and to-do lists, some use it for memory keeping. Lately, I've taken to using it as a diary or journal. I love this method because it's perfect for looking back at later. Especially if you've fallen behind on your memory keeping. You can go back to a certain week or date and see exactly what happened that day and look up quotes and how you felt on that date so you can journal about it properly in your scrapbooking or Project Life album. Awesome, right?

In the pages below you'll see a mix of diary entries in my Happy planner. Classroom and workshop notes, what I did that day, to-do lists, etc. It's basically free-writing or brain-dumping if you do that haha. I've also blocked out little bits of journaling that were a little too personal to share. :)

Having a daily practice of free-flow writing is so therapeutic. It's great for productivity too. Once you get all your random thoughts and to-dos down on paper, your mind is able to focus on one thing at a time. It's been a super great way for me to use my Happy Planner lately.

What about you- what's your favorite way to use your Happy Planner? Let me know in the comments below!

DIY Pretty Garden Rocks

Summer is in the air which means it's finally the season for gardening! A lot of people plant their gardens in the spring but I wait until summer because I live in the south, and I like to have my veggie crops from the time the college semester ends (May) until late fall. I get to harvest my tomato plants through November! Talk about a long season.

Now that I have more time on my hands for my garden and getting crafty (thanks to school being out for the summer,) I wanted to do a DIY project to make my garden beautiful. Here's what I came up with- Pretty Garden Rocks!

DIY Pretty Garden Rocks

This project is perfect for not only adding some pretty to your garden but to help it function better too. Rocks around the border of your garden help prevent weeds and grass from creeping into your garden bed AND the bright colored rocks help attract honey bees. Honey bees help pollinate your plants so they grow healthier and larger. Plus, they are dying off and as an essential part of our ecosystem, it's awesome to give them a safe place to pollinate and hang out. YAY! Saving animals and making pretty things. Here's what you'll need for the project.

Supplies-
Rocks with a Flat Side
White Acrylic Paint
Red Acrylic Paint
Teal Acrylic Paint
Yellow Acrylic Paint
Pink Acrylic Paint
Sealant
Me and My Big Ideas Black Quote Stickers

Instructions-
1. Paint all of your rocks in various colors. They'll probably need 2 or 3 coats to look vibrant.
2. Once the paint has dried, seal the paint with Mod Podge or some other sealant. This is important because they'll be out in the dirt and paint can easily scrap off rocks when they are in the soil and in contact with other rocks.
3. Add your favorite quote stickers on top! I used a combination of white and black phrase stickers and love the finished look.
4. Put the rocks around the border of your garden beds and wait for the honey bees to come. :D

Gorgeous right? And so perfect for summer and the garden... OR as a desk paperweight because lets be honest- they are that pretty haha. Will you be trying this DIY project? Let me know what you think in the comments down below!

Beautiful Traveler's Notebook Keychains

My December Daily 2016 album was done in a traveler's notebook and my 2017 one little word album is being done in a traveler's notebook too. Ever since I started experimenting with them, I have obviously become obsessed with traveler's notebooks! The only downside? I wanted the outside of my TN's to be as beautiful as the pages I create inside. So I got crafty and started making these gorgeous Traveler's Notebook keychains that attach to the outside of Traveler's notebooks for some added personality and bling!

The best part? You can get them in my etsy shop! That's right, I'm sharing the gorgeous fun over there and you can pick up any of these beautiful hand crafted (by me) traveler's notebook keychains to add bling to your covers! :D

Asheville Girl's Trip Project Life Pages

More gorgeous 12x12 Project Life pages from October 2015 today! Today I'm sharing the pages I made to document a girl's day trip to Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is such a gorgeous city and perfect for photos. I also experimented with stamping in my project life album for the first time in this layout which is really exciting for me. I've always wanted to stamp but always thought it would take away from the gorgeous photos. BUT this amazing travel themed stamp from Gossamer Blue was so perfect, I knew it would only make my pages even more beautiful than they already were.

Aren't these pages totally gorgeous? It makes me want to get another girl's trip on the books for this year. Going on girl's trips with girlfriends who also memory keep or craft is the best because they totally understand your need to stop every 10 minutes for a photo opportunity. No shame in our selfie and tourist game!

What's your favorite travel destination for a girl's trip? I'm thinking Charleston, South Carolina next! Or south Florida. So fun! Leave me a comment below and let me know where you would recommend visiting for a girl's weekend out of town :D
